Two ’40 Fords and a Run to E’Ville

Dad and I left New Melle about 6am, heading over to meet up with Dale West, over in Highland, IL. It was fun to make the run with Dale. We sure got a lot of waves and nods of appreciation from the cars and trucks that passed us.

The flathead did great, but it ran a bit warm. We were also running a bit faster than I normally drive the truck. We borrowed an infrared thermometer so we could keep an eye on the engine temps.

Didn’t take a lot of pictures, but the deuce phaeton was the car I wish. could have followed me home! I’d love to have one!

Roughly 875 mile round trip.  The biggest issue that I ran into is the fact that I still need to clean out my tank, so we had to stop a few times and blow crud back out of the fuel line.
