Two Car Event Saturday!

Photo borrowed from the Autos in April facebook page

You know, I have been doing this long enough to know that I need to take pictures when I attend events! Unfortunately, I get to talking, and forget to take the pictures.

Normally, I avoid car “shows” like the plague. My take is that if I drive one of the ’40s somewhere where there aren’t any other cool cars, I am guaranteed to have the coolest vehicle there. A side benefit is that it doesn’t block me into any kind of time commitments/obligations.

Yesterday, I dropped in to Evangel Temple, for their Autos in April and 5K, knowing that I was only going to be there for an hour or so. I had made prior plans to run down to Highlandville, MO, to hang at a car show for Spokane High School’s Project Graduation.

I spent most of the time, at the second event talking with Jack and Michelle Ferrell. Anyone whom has ever attended the Springfield NSRA event would know Michelle as the blonde that cruises 99% of the time in her blown yellow A roadster. I have always appreciated her roadster as being a cool car, but after spending more time looking at it, and Jack telling me all the stuff they did to the body, it’s even more impressive.

Oh, I forgot to mention…to my shock, and utter amazement, the ’40 Stake Truck won a trophy for being an “Awesome Ride”! I never expect anything like that, and was quite honored to be given an award. I guess that is what happens when you are one of the last guys to leave! 😉

Again, sorry I didn’t take many pic’s. I must be out of practice!
