Driving Hot Rods…

There was a post, on The HAMB, the other day, STREET IS NEATER IN A BEATER. LET’S SEE YOURS, and it definitely supports what I do. Both of my ’40 Fords are definitely not “show” cars. They are drivers, or to use Gray Baskerville’s term, “Beaters”. They get washed, periodically, but mainly, they get driven.

Anyone who’s followed my adventures here, definitely know I drive my ’40s. Pretty much any time that I am “home”, if I am going anywhere, I’m behind the wheel of a ’40. For the past few months, it’s been the ’40 Stake Truck, but just before my latest “work” trip, I swapped the garage spots for the two, and put the coupe in the “go” spot.

Prior to swapping spots, though, I had some yard work to get done, so the stake truck got some last minute chores dumped on it. Literally!

Picked up a cubic yard of mulch. About gave the bucket driver a heart attack, asking him to load it in the back of the stake truck!

And hauled off a downed tree from our friend’s house.

Yeah, car events are fun, but not near as fun as driving the beaters!
