Dad’s Birthday Weekend!

20120129-155127.jpg

Friday, 1/27, was Dad’s 70th birthday. Marian, my step-mom, has been planning a surprise party for dad, and we have been working on a plan since right after Christmas. It was settled that we would have Dad’s party the day AFTER his birthday, and I would come up and pop in at his house at supper time, on his actual birthday. I figured that would be a great decoy surprise.

After I got there, we went out to eat at Dad’s choice, Popeye’s Chicken & Bisquits. I’m always game for some red beans, rice and chicken!

On Saturday, I ran out to hang out with Aunt Betty Jo, and we went to the Classic Car Club of America meeting that was held at Hyman Ltd. Classic Cars. It was absolutely amazing to see the collection of cars that Mark has for sale.

Afterwards, we went on out to Dad and Marian’s, so that we could get there before everyone showed up. Dad was totally surprised by the party, and it was an awesome time. Don Albers was whining about not being on the site, so here’s a picture of his mug, too.

Also…since the FUN is in the RUN, here’s a few pic’s from the trip home!

    Bret,
Happy birthday to your Dad and yes, thanks for posting your trip pictures. Hasn’t the weather been great so far this winter. I haven’t had my car out but there days I considered it. There have been motorcycles out
Maybe spring is not too far down the road. Then we can cruise for real.
