Operation (no) Smooth Shifter, part 3

Been a while since an update on Dad’s 34.

We have everything installed, transmission filled with fluid, and took it out for a test ride.

Was cool to have the car moving under its own power. Unfortunately, it isn’t shifting out of first gear. We have tested vacuum, inspected and swapped iut a governor, but still no success. Transmission builder came down to check it out and is bring another valve body next week. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

In the meantime, we also picked up a T coupe for Dad.

The T didn’t run worth a hoot, so we have done some tuning and fixed some throttle linkage issues. Several build errors by the builder that needs fixed. The 4 bar front end was installed wrong and is in a total bind.

Plans are to finish up the 34, so Dad can have something on the road while we get the T road worthy. Needing to have the 34 done before the 3rd Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred, March 26.
