Had meetings in Lake Charles, LA this past week. Given the options to fly or drive, I chose to drive!
Here’s a few pic’s from the trip.
A couple of shots on the approach into Marshall, AR. Yeah…I like that stretch of highway.
Caught up with my buddy, Steve Self.
2 miles short of Texarkana, ran out of gas, because I hadn’t calculated my MPG at 80MPH!!!
Back on the road towards Shreveport.
Cotton fields, in northern Louisiana.
Made it to L’Auberge du Lac Casino (where we were staying)
The Ed Kowalczyk concert, on Thursday night, out by the pool.
My buddies that I work with, Stephen Self, Mikel Fears, Emerald Scott and me!
The I-10 Bridge, heading east, over Lake Charles.
Took a detour (actually several, due to missed turns), on the way up towards Gibsland, LA, to see the roadside marker, of the ambush site of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker. I like to have some historical relevance to any good road trip!
It really bothers me that people find it necessary to vandalize everything. The marker has been shot, spray painted, written on, pieces chipped off of it for souvenirs, etc. Ridiculous!
I believe that was the Ouachita River, but can’t remember.
As Christopher Robin says…”Tut Tut, Looks like rain!”
Sat on this bridge for about 15 minutes, while they were running traffic the other direction. Man, did that bridge bounce when the semi’s drove past in the other direction!
The Bill Clinton Presidential Library, in Little Rock, AR. Appropriately, it was designed after a doublewide!
