Conrad’s Cool 36 Custom!

No doubt about it, when it comes to slick hot rods and customs, Dave Conrad knows how to do it! He’s been working on this one for a while, as the first two shots, pre-chop and paint, were sent to me, back on 5/8/2011, with the note that read:

So far all I’ve done is lower the spare and put skirts on it. What I have left to do is chop the top, lower it and swap in late model running gear. And paint it real real dark green.

A couple nights ago, my buddy Dickie Carroll, sent me the latest updated photos of Dave’s ’36. The e-mail read:

I am sending these pics of Dave Conrad’s newest project. Mostly home built , with assist on the chop by Jim Hervatin, who came up with a remarkable way to make few cuts and pleasing shape. Dave likes taildraggers and to my taste its perfect. The dark green paint and all modifications were planned well in advance to the early days. Hope you like it. Its waiting its turn in the trim shop, then cruise all summer.

I know that Dave is planning on participating in the St Louis Hot Rod Hundred. The question is, which of his fleet is he going to bring?

Dave has invited me, several times, that when I am up in the StL area, to swing down to his place for a shop tour. Gonna have to make that a priority, and SOON!

Looking great, Dave!
