With having the day off, for Memorial Day, I chose to head down to Doug’s shop and begin the process of getting the ’40 MorDor started towards the “beater/driver” status. The morning started off by cleaning up the mess that we left on Thursday evening, while thrashing to fix some last minute stuff on Dad’s T Coupe. After we had the shop cleaned up, we moved the MorDor from it’s resting place over into the main work area, so that I could assess the situation and get a plan together.

The resulting stance leaves us with about a 5 inch gap between the tire and the lip of the rear fenders.
These 235/75/15’s will do the job of filling the hole, once I de-arch the rear springs and add some lowering blocks.
I’m pleased with the front tire/fender “fit”. Right where I was expecting it to end up.
This week, I’ll be traveling for work, and heading to Springdale, AR, next weekend for the 1st Annual NWA Hot Rod Hundred Reliability Run. Hopefully I can squeeze some time in to begin working on the rear springs. Once those are done, the wiring time comes.
With careful planning and making the best of my time, I hope to have it in it’s “Driver/Beater” status by the end of July, first part of August.
